Luke 5

4(c,d) Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Ἐπανάγαγε εἰς τὸ βάθος, καὶ χαλάσατε τὰ δίκτυα ὑμῶν εἰς ἄγραν.

10(f-g) Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Μὴ φοβοῦ· ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀνθρώπους ἔσῃ ζωγρῶν.

13(d-e) I will: be thou clean.

Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι.

14(b-f) but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

ἀλλὰ ἀπελθὼν δεῖξον σεαυτὸν τῷ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκε περὶ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σου, καθὼς προσέταξε Μωσῆς, εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.

20(c,d) Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

Ἄνθρωπε, ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου.

22(c) What reason ye in your hearts?

Τί διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;

23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν, Ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου, ἢ εἰπεῖν, Ἔγειραι καὶ περιπάτει;

24(a) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins,

ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας

24(c-f) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Σοὶ λέγω, ἔγειραι, καὶ ἄρας τὸ κλινίδιόν σου, πορεύου εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου.

27(f) Follow me.

Ἀκολούθει μοι.

31(b,c) They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ὑγιαίνοντες ἰατροῦ, ἀλλ᾽ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες.

32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

οὐκ ἐλήλυθα καλέσαι δικαίους, ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλοὺς εἰς μετάνοιαν.

34(b,c) Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

Μὴ δύνασθε τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ νυμφῶνος, ἐν ᾧ ὁ νυμφίος μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐστι, ποιῆσαι νηστεύειν;

35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι, καὶ ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος, τότε νηστεύσουσιν ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις.

36(b-e) No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

ὅτι Οὐδεὶς ἐπίβλημα ἱματίου καινοῦ ἐπιβάλλει ἐπὶ ἱμάτιον παλαιόν· εἰ δὲ μήγε, καὶ τὸ καινὸν σχίζει, καὶ τῷ παλαιῷ οὐ συμφωνεῖ ἐπίβλημα τὸ ἀπὸ τοῦ καινοῦ.

37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

καὶ οὐδεὶς βάλλει οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς· εἰ δὲ μήγε, ῥήξει ὁ νέος οἶνος τοὺς ἀσκούς, καὶ αὐτὸς ἐκχυθήσεται, καὶ οἱ ἀσκοὶ ἀπολοῦνται.

38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

ἀλλὰ οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς καινοὺς βλητέον, καὶ ἀμφότεροι συντηροῦνται.

39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

καὶ οὐδεὶς πιὼν παλαιὸν εὐθέως θέλει νέον· λέγει γάρ, Ὁ παλαιὸς χρηστότερός ἐστιν.
